Fabric is the foundation of what we do, and as we all know, foundations need to support everything that we do. As creators of baby wear, needed fabric that wasn't only soft to the touch, but also safe to wear, free or any harmful or irritable chemicals, and needed to be responsibly sourced. Even before we started drawing patterns and brainstorming designs, fabric was our first priority.
Certified under OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, our fabric is independently verified to be free of chemicals and substances deemed unsafe or unsuitable to human skin. At BAO, this is the bare minimum of what we believe fabric should be. It was of vital importance that we were certified by an independent organisation that specialised in fabric safety, as we found that many popular fast fashion brands created their own set of rules and their own certifications which ultimately allow them to be labelled as "organic" or "safe" according to their own definitions.
When it comes to baby wear (or all clothes, for that matter), cute is important. But above all, make sure to choose safe. Safety is the ultimate priority for our little ones, and we're proud that all of our prodcuts are certified safe.
INDEPENDENTLY VERIFIED
OEKO-TEX® is a globally recognized standard that enables brands like BAO to make responsible decisions when sourcing fabrics and designing baby wear.
Standard 100 specifically looks at harmful substances found in fabrics. In the test they take into account numerous regulated and non-regulated substances, which may be harmful to human health. It's of vital importance to us that our products are able to provide you with peace of mind. As parents, one challenge that we often faced was the lack of clarity about dyes, softeners and other chemicals that could cause harm to our baby. We're confident in our baby wear's safety, thanks to standards such as OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, and we hope that you can be equally as confident in our products.
